Devoted Down Comforter user---the "hard way"

Down Comforters are comforters with down material and down feather filling, the warmest material known to man. They give good insulation that keeps you warm and toasty all night long. Down bedding and comforters are soft, fluffy and cuddly.
Let me tell you how I learned this by experience. Before my hip replacements, and before the medical profession had figured out why I was in pain, I was in a LOT of pain. Warmth always seemed to relieve the pain and made me feel better for awhile. I went to a pain doctor, who thought that I should use magnets. I had tried magnetic insoles and they just made my pain worse. The doctor said that that pain was just my body getting rid of the toxins. What did I know? She was the doctor. She just 'happened' to be selling magnetic mattresses and magnetic comforters. She offered to let me try these products. I remembered the terrible pain those insoles had caused. I was hesitant, but she was a pain doctor---she must know. So I tried them. That night was incredibly, painful, much more than usual. The next night I decided that ALL toxins must be out of my body, so I tried it again. Not a good idea. The pain was just as bad. This time I tried for a little while, then I bundled the mattress and comforter into their package and went back to sleeping under my electric blanket. A year or so later, I was discussing the weather with my chiropractor. I had shared my experience with magnets with her previously. It was a cold winter and I said that I was cold, adding that I always turn my electric blanket on at night, but I'm still cold. She looked at me. Her eyes were as big as saucers and she said, “You do know that an electric blanket is a magnetic field, don’t you?” I didn’t know that. I asked how I would stay warm at night without a lot of blankets. She said that she used a Down Comforter and a feather bed. She said that she was toasty warm that way. I thought about it a lot, but I must admit that I promptly quit using my electric blanket. I haven’t used one to this day and don’t intend to. I bought a Down Comforter and feather bed and she was right. I was warm and toasty. I was able to turn the heat down at night and save a little on my heating bill.
When you get up in the morning, after spending the night under a Down Comforter, and especially when you slip out from between a Down Comforter and a feather bed, you stay warm for awhile. You’re never hot, just pleasantly warm. You can go make your coffee. Then you need to turn the heat back up again. Even though I have now had the hip replacements and am no longer in great pain, I love the warmth and coziness of my Down Comforter and feather bed. I am now a devoted Down Comforter and feather bed user. The Down Comforter stays on all year. The feather bed goes on when it's really cold out.
